Summary:सारांश

A Letter to God is a story which depicts the firm faith of a poor and simple-minded farmer named Lencho in God. Lencho was poor yet a dedicated farmer. He was hoping for a decent harvest. To his dismay, a hailstorm came suddenly and destroyed all his crops and harvest completely. Seeing the damage, the poor farmer was taken aback and felt sad. However, he had a strong faith in God. He was a learned man who knew how to read and write. Due to his straightforward nature, he was certain that God would definitely help him. Thus, he decided to draft a letter to God while addressing his financial concerns to him. In the letter, he requested God to send him one hundred pesos to sow his fields again and save his family from starvation. Soon he wrote a letter and went to the post office. He placed a stamp on the letter and dropped it into the mailbox.

ए लेटर टू गॉड एक कहानी है जिसमें भगवान में लेनचो नाम के एक गरीब और सरल दिमाग वाले किसान के दृढ़ विश्वास को दर्शाया गया है। लेनचो गरीब था फिर भी एक समर्पित किसान था। वह अच्छी फसल की उम्मीद कर रहा था। उनके विनाश के लिए, एक ओलावृष्टि अचानक आई और उनकी सभी फसलों और फसल को नष्ट कर दिया। क्षति को देखकर, गरीब किसान अचंभित हो गया और दुखी महसूस किया। हालाँकि, उनका ईश्वर में दृढ़ विश्वास था। वह एक विद्वान व्यक्ति था जो पढ़ना और लिखना जानता था। अपने सीधे स्वभाव के कारण, वह निश्चित था कि भगवान उसकी मदद अवश्य करेंगे। इस प्रकार, उन्होंने भगवान को अपनी वित्तीय चिंताओं को संबोधित करते हुए एक पत्र का मसौदा तैयार करने का फैसला किया। पत्र में, उसने भगवान से अनुरोध किया कि वह अपने खेतों को फिर से बोने के लिए एक सौ पेसो को भेजे और अपने परिवार को भुखमरी से बचाए। जल्द ही उन्होंने एक पत्र लिखा और पोस्ट ऑफिस चले गए। उसने पत्र पर एक मोहर लगाई और उसे मेलबॉक्स में गिरा दिया।

When the postman took out the letter from the letter-box, he laughed heartily after reading it. He immediately rushed to the postmaster and showed him the strange letter. The postmaster read the letter but laughed out loud when he noticed that the letter was addressed to God. However, he was also moved by the faith of the farmer with which the letter was written to God. He lauded the poor farmer’s unquestionable faith in God and decided to help him. Soon, he asked the employees of the post office to contribute some money as a charity and also gave a part of his salary so that Lencho’s faith in God is not shaken. However, the money collected was a little less than what Lencho had requested from God. The postmaster then put all the money collected in an envelope and addressed it to the poor farmer.

जब डाकिया ने लेटर-बॉक्स से चिट्ठी निकाली, तो उसे पढ़कर दिल से हंसी आ गई। वह तुरंत पोस्टमास्टर के पास पहुंचा और उसे अजीब पत्र दिखाया। पोस्टमास्टर ने पत्र पढ़ा लेकिन जोर से हंसा जब उसने देखा कि पत्र भगवान को संबोधित था। हालाँकि, उन्हें उस किसान के विश्वास से भी जोड़ा गया, जिसके साथ परमेश्वर को पत्र लिखा गया था। उन्होंने भगवान में गरीब किसान के निर्विवाद विश्वास की सराहना की और उसकी मदद करने का फैसला किया। जल्द ही, उन्होंने डाकघर के कर्मचारियों को कुछ पैसे दान के रूप में योगदान करने के लिए कहा और अपने वेतन का एक हिस्सा भी दिया ताकि भगवान में लेनचो का विश्वास हिल न जाए। हालाँकि, एकत्र किया गया धन, लेनोचो ने भगवान से जो कुछ भी मांगा था, उससे थोड़ा कम था। पोस्टमास्टर ने फिर एक लिफाफे में एकत्रित सारा पैसा गरीब किसान को संबोधित किया।


The following Sunday, Lencho went to the post office to check if there was a letter for him. The postmaster gently handed over the letter to him. Lencho was not surprised at all to see the letter with money inside the envelope. He confidently opened the envelope to count the money, but became angry when he saw that there was only seventy pesos in it. He was sure that God could have never made such a grave mistake. He instantly went to the window to ask for paper and ink and wrote another letter to God and dropped it into the letter-box.

अगले रविवार को, लेन्चो डाकघर में यह देखने के लिए गया कि क्या उसके लिए कोई पत्र है। पोस्टमास्टर ने धीरे से उन्हें पत्र सौंपा। लिंचो को लिफाफे के अंदर पैसे वाले पत्र को देखकर बिल्कुल भी आश्चर्य नहीं हुआ। उसने विश्वासपूर्वक पैसे गिनने के लिए लिफाफा खोला, लेकिन गुस्सा हो गया जब उसने देखा कि उसमें केवल सत्तर पेसो थे। उसे यकीन था कि ईश्वर कभी इतनी गंभीर गलती नहीं कर सकता। वह तुरन्त कागज़ और स्याही माँगने के लिए खिड़की के पास गया और उसने एक और पत्र ईश्वर को लिखा और उसे लेटर-बॉक्स में गिरा दिया।

When Lencho had left the place, the postmaster opened and read his letter immediately. In it, Lencho had raised a complaint to God that he had initially requested for one hundred pesos, but he was upset to find seventy pesos only. Furthermore, he criticized the post office employees and felt that they must have stolen the remaining thirty pesos from his envelope. He urged God to send him the rest of the money since he was in urgent need of it. However, he requested God not to send the money through the mail because Lencho thought that the post office employees were ‘a bunch of crooks’ who might have stolen the remaining money from the envelope.


जब लेन्चो वहां से चला गया था, पोस्टमास्टर ने खोला और अपना पत्र तुरंत पढ़ा। इसमें, लेनचो ने ईश्वर से शिकायत की थी कि उसने शुरू में एक सौ पेसो के लिए अनुरोध किया था, लेकिन वह केवल सत्तर पेसो को खोजने के लिए परेशान था। इसके अलावा, उन्होंने डाकघर के कर्मचारियों की आलोचना की और महसूस किया कि उन्होंने अपने लिफाफे से शेष तीस पेसो की चोरी की होगी। उसने भगवान से आग्रह किया कि वह उसे बाकी पैसे भेज दे, क्योंकि उसे इसकी तत्काल आवश्यकता थी। हालांकि, उन्होंने भगवान से मेल के माध्यम से पैसे नहीं भेजने का अनुरोध किया क्योंकि लेनचो ने सोचा था कि डाकघर के कर्मचारी ’बदमाशों का एक झुंड’ हैं, जिन्होंने लिफाफे से बचे हुए पैसे चुरा लिए होंगे।

Conclusion:निष्कर्ष

A Letter to God, we learnt that faith in God has the power to move mountains and satisfy our needs. However, it should also be noted that humanity also prevails in the midst of one’s faith in the Almighty. This story beautifully sketches Lencho’s deep faith in God and how the post office employees helped him anonymously by contributing money from their pockets to help the poor man in crisis.

ईश्वर को पत्र, हमने सीखा कि ईश्वर में विश्वास पहाड़ों को हिलाने और हमारी जरूरतों को पूरा करने की शक्ति रखता है। हालांकि, यह भी ध्यान दिया जाना चाहिए कि सर्वशक्तिमान में एक विश्वास के बीच मानवता भी प्रबल है। इस कहानी ने भगवान में लेनो की गहरी आस्था का चित्रण किया और डाकघर के कर्मचारियों ने कैसे उनकी जेब से पैसा निकालकर गुमनाम रूप से उनकी मदद की ताकि गरीब आदमी को संकट में डाला जा सके।
