CBSE Class 10 English First Flight - From the Diary of Anne Frank Summary

 Summary:

From the Diary of Anne Frank is an autobiography of a young Jewish girl who wrote her thoughts in a diary. At first, she felt it was an unusual experience for her to pen down all her thoughts in pen and paper. She believed that no one in the near future would be interested to read about a young girl’s past experiences from her diary. However, she still decided to write her thoughts in her diary and named it “Kitty”. She considered her diary to be her true and loyal friend as she was lonely and had no friends to talk to. Anne felt that her diary had more capacity to absorb thoughts than people with low patience levels. Further, she mentioned how much she loved her family, especially her adorable father who gifted her the diary on her thirteenth birthday.

On 20th June 1942, Anne stated how her entire class was nervous about their exam results. Although she was confident about other subjects, she wasn’t quite sure about mathematics. She and her friend, G pleaded the students to calm down and not make noise, but all in vain. She felt that about a quarter of the class were dummies who should be kept back in the same class as they did not participate in other activities.20 जून 1942 को, ऐनी ने बताया कि कैसे उनका पूरा क्लास उनके परीक्षा परिणामों से घबरा गया था।

Besides, Anne also mentioned how the maths teacher, Mr Keesing was annoyed by her talkative nature. He would often punish her with extra homework whenever she talked more during his class. In the first punishment, he asked her to write an essay on ‘A Chatterbox’, which in itself was a weird topic for Anne. She gave a good thought about the topic and decided to present convincing arguments in her essay, justifying her points in support of talking. She mentioned that she would try to improve herself but she could not do anything about the trait that she inherited from her mother. When her teacher read the essay, he found it amusing and assigned her a second essay ‘An Incorrigible Chatterbox’ for her unreformable talkative nature.

Conclusion:

From the Diary of Anne Frank, we learnt that a young student should be allowed to interact in class in order to feel joyous and have an enjoyable learning experience.

CBSE Class 10 Science Chapter 10 Light - Reflection and Refraction Notes

Light:  Light is a form of energy that enables us to see things. Light starts from a source and bounces off objects which are perceived by our eyes and our brain processes this signal, which eventually enables us to see. Nature of Light Light behaves as a: ray, e.g. reflection wave, e.g. interference and diffraction particle, e.g. photoelectric effect Laws of Reflection Light incident on another medium When light travels from one medium to another medium it either: gets absorbed (absorption) bounces back (reflection) passes through or bends (refraction) When light is incident on a plane mirror, most of it gets reflected, and some of it gets absorbed in the medium. Characteristics of light Speed of light  c = λ × μ , where  λ  is its wavelength and  μ   is its frequency. Speed of light is a constant which is  2.998 × 10 8 m / s  or approximately  3.0 × 10 8 m / s . To know more about Properties of Light,  visit here . Reflecti...

Heredity and Evolution – CBSE Class 10 Science Extra Questions

Extra Questions Question-1 What is heredity? Solution: The continuity of features from one generation to another is known as heredity. It is also defined as the transmission of traits from parents to the offsprings. Question-2 Name the plant on which Mendel performed his experiments. Solution: Mendel performed his experiments on the plant, Pisum sativum  –  the garden pea plant. Question-3 Define variation. Solution: Children do not resemble their parents completely. They possess characters obtained from both the parents. These changes in the phenotypic and genotypic characters are known as variations. Thus a given population of a species has indefinite variants. Question-4 Define a gene. Solution: A gene is a small portion of the DNA, with codes for a particular polypeptide or a protein. In other words, it is the functional unit of the DNA. It is also responsible for the transmission of hereditary characters from the parents to the offspring. Question-5 Write the expand...
